Cameroon: betting facts (2026)
Betting in Cameroon is regulated by the Ministry of Territorial Administration (MINAT).
Licensed operators: no public register
Gambling is governed by Law No. 2015/012 of 16 July 2015 and Decree No. 2019/2300/PM of 2019; MINAT issues the licences. MINAT's website publishes no list of licensed betting operators (its downloads section has no gaming documents), so we do not reproduce the lists circulating on betting sites. Licence numbers quoted by operators themselves (such as 'MINAT N° 000020') cannot be checked against a public register.
Minimum age
Minimum age: civil majority, 21. The 2019 decree (art. 16) bars anyone who has not reached civil majority from casino games, betting and public lotteries; civil majority in Cameroon is 21.
Tax on winnings
1% tax on deposits and withdrawals made through online gambling platforms (the ordinary money-transfer tax is 0.2%), plus a fixed 4 FCFA per transaction, per the tax authority's (DGI) fact sheet and the Finance Law 2026. Casinos pay a 15% gaming tax. We found no confirmed withholding tax on betting winnings; treat any such rate as unverified.
