Senegal: betting facts (2026)
Betting in Senegal is regulated by the Loterie Nationale Sénégalaise (LONASE), the state monopoly holder for games of chance (Law 87-43 of 23 December 1987).
Licensed operators: no public register
LONASE publishes no register of authorised online platforms on lonase.sn. In a communiqué reported by the Senegalese press on 1 July 2026, LONASE listed 17 platforms authorised to operate and warned that any other platform is clandestine. As reported: Click Digital Marketing, Sunubet, Lonase.bet, Betclic, Bwinners, PMU Online, Lonase 22bet, Lonase Way, Lonase-Loto-Sénégal, PMU Sénégal, Linebet, Mojabet, Melbet, Megalink, Betsama, LPbet and Service Online International (1xBet). We show this list as reported because the communiqué itself is not on LONASE's website. In February 2025 LONASE's director general said no new online licences would be granted (Le Soleil).
Minimum age
Minimum age: 18. LONASE's responsible-gaming page states that gambling is forbidden to under-18s.
Tax on winnings
20% levy on winnings paid out by gambling operators, withheld by LONASE as monopoly holder (General Tax Code art. 212 quinquies, inserted by Law 2025-17 of 27 September 2025, published in the Journal officiel of 2 October 2025). The same law taxes operators' share of the gains at 20% (art. 212 quater).
